Fractional marketing leadership for tech companies
The marketing and communication layer in your stack
Get my take on your marketingThe first pass on your company is now made by a machine
The first pass of buyer evaluation is now done by a machine. AI-driven discovery has overtaken word of mouth as a top source of demos, and most buyers now use an AI assistant somewhere in the purchase, reading your positioning, your docs, and what others say about you before a human reaches your site.
For a company whose best proof is still invisible, vague positioning is expensive: the model summarises you vaguely, and you lose the shortlist before anyone arrives. Citation is becoming the new ranking, and more funded companies are competing for the same attention than at any point in years. Clear, structured positioning stopped being conversion polish. It is now a demand input.

FAQ
What is Narrative Stack?
Narrative Stack is a fractional marketing company for tech businesses, led by Daniela Nastase, a CMO with 10+ years building go-to-market for technical companies in AI software and products, robotics, autonomous systems, and open source software. Working alongside technical founders and their teams, we build the whole marketing engine, from strategy to execution, and make complex technology easy to understand for the people who buy it. We work with a small number of companies at a time.
Who is it for?
Tech companies from seed to Series B, 5 to 50 people, led by a technical founder, with real traction and no senior marketing leader in post yet. Sectors include AI software and products, developer tools, robotics and physical AI, autonomous systems and V2X, distributed systems, and technical open source software.
What does a fractional CMO at Narrative Stack cost?
Two levels: Fractional CMO Lead at £3,500 to £5,000 a month with a three-month minimum, and Fractional CMO Build from £6,000 a month, which adds hands-on execution. The opening Tailored Perspective is free. Full breakdown in what a fractional CMO costs.
What happens first?
A free Tailored Perspective, then the first 30 days. In those first weeks I find where marketing is leaking (positioning, message, proof, or channel), fix the highest-leverage gap, and build outwards. Fast, visible proof before any big spend.
